This presentation will explore the current state of the US solar manufacturing landscape, going beyond the rapid expansion of module factories to look at the much slower and more limited developments in c-Si cell, ingot, and wafer production. In doing so, it will separate tangible progress from hype and look at some of the barriers preventing the more rapid build-out of these portions of the value chain. Finally, this presentation will reveal some of the emerging legislative threats to a more full development of the US value chain, including proposals to restrict access to the Section 45X credit.
