JLW Advising
Jetta Wong is a seasoned leader in clean energy and technology policy. Wong founded JLW Advising, a consulting firm focused on advancing clean energy technologies to the market. She was most recently at the U.S. General Services Administration, where she served as the Administrator’s Deputy Chief of Staff for Policy and Senior Advisor on Climate. In this role, she oversaw agency-wide policy development, including implementing the $3.4 billion allocated to GSA under the Inflation Reduction Act—the most significant climate investment in U.S. history.
From 2012 to 2017, she held leadership roles at the U.S. Department of Energy, where she launched the National Laboratory Impact Initiative and established the Office of Technology Transitions to enhance the commercial impact of the agency’s $14 billion R&D portfolio.
Earlier in her career, Wong staffed the U.S. House Committee on Science, Space, and Technology. She also worked with nonprofits such as the Union of Concerned Scientists and the Environmental and Energy Study Institute to promote renewable energy policies. She began her career in Uzbekistan as a natural resource consultant.
Wong has held various leadership roles, including Board Membership at BRITE Energy Innovators and the Interstate Renewable Energy Council (IREC), and serving on committees for the National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine. She also serves on advisory committees for research organizations and has provided testimony for various congressional committees. Wong holds an M.P.S. in Legislative Affairs from George Washington University and a B.S. in Natural Resources and the Environment from the University of Michigan.
