Tracie McBain is the Sourcing Executive for Commodity Management specific to blades and blade direct materials for Wind at GE Vernova. GE Vernova’s Wind Segment is bringing more affordable, reliable energy to global communities through its fleet of 56,000+ wind turbines, helping deliver on the company’s mission of electrifying while simultaneously decarbonizing the world.
Tracie joined GE in the Company’s Silicones business in 1996 as a Six Sigma blackbelt in manufacturing operations, with roles including Operations Manager, where she led a cross functional team of chemists, engineers, planners, and operators who manufactured specialty materials for various global industries, followed by product line and sourcing roles. In 2009 she joined GE’s Onshore Wind business where she has held roles of increasing responsibility in the parts and sourcing organizations. Her journey into wind turbine blades began in 2013 when she stepped into the role of commodity leader; she was announced as the Commodity Management Leader for blades in 2022. Since then, Tracie has grown her organization to include the blade direct materials sourcing team, which is responsible for purchasing materials for GE Vernova’s internal blade facilities. Prior to joining GE, Tracie served as a scale up production engineer at GenCorp Polymer Products.
Tracie holds a Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering from Ohio University and is based in Schenectady, NY.
