    Dr. Dominique Bain oversees initiatives focused on emerging resource adequacy programs and wholesale market reforms and is an authority on locational marginal emissions (LME).

    As a key leader within the Ascend Analytics Market Intelligence team, she directs strategic research and decarbonization opportunities across the Western United States and is responsible for the evolution of Ascend’s internal LME modeling.

    Dr. Bain has extensive experience in energy market analysis and planning at Xcel Energy, Arizona Public Service, and the National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL). Her expertise spans resource planning, production cost modeling, renewable energy forecasting and integration, hydropower modeling, and the policy frameworks shaping the future of clean energy.

    Dr. Bain earned her Ph.D. in Engineering Sustainable Systems and her Master’s degree in Environmental Science and Policy, both from Northern Arizona University.
