    For over 35 years, Dan Shugar, P.E. has led world-class solar companies to successful outcomes and advanced solar technologies in the U.S. and worldwide. As founder and CEO of Nextracker (Nasdaq: NXT), he brings together solar expertise and technology innovation in a way few cleantech leaders have. Most recently, Dan earned the UNC’s Institute for the Environment Pioneer in Cleantech award (March 2025), two Telly Awards for the Dinner with Dan video series, and was named Chief Trailblazer of the Year Award by S&P Global Platts Award for Commodity Insights.
    In February 2023, Mr. Shugar together with the Company’s original founders, brought Nextracker to a successful IPO. Focusing on customer needs, innovation, and company culture, he’s responsible for leading with fiscal responsibility, market technology foresight, and a diverse global staff in the global energy sector.
    Mr. Shugar has devoted his career to advancing solar technologies for the distributed generation and utility-scale solar power generation sector. Since founding Nextracker, the Company has held global market share leadership for nine consecutive years and has shipped over 100 gigawatts of smart solar trackers globally, operating in over 40 countries. Prior to Nextracker, he grew Solaria Corporation’s annual revenue five times over a three-year period as the company’s CEO. Well-known for his leadership as president of SunPower Corporation and president of PowerLight, he surrounds himself with passionate, tech-savvy, clean energy-driven executive teams who share his mission to make solar a mainstream power source around the world.
    Mr. Shugar earned his Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and an MBA from Golden Gate University. He sits on the boards of the American Clean Power Association (ACP) and the Solar Energy Industry Association (SEIA) and on numerous cleantech advisory boards. He holds multiple U.S. patents and has published over fifty technical papers.
