Presentation Description: Wood was contracted to perform a capacity test for a 10MW solar PV project in the USA, following the ASTM E2848-13 standard. The test presented several challenges, including both bifacial and monofacial PV panels, arrays with varying azimuths, a limited number of weather stations, significant shading from surrounding forest, underperformance, complex terrain, and inverter clipping. This presentation will explain the process of conducting capacity tests, how Wood overcame these challenges, key lessons learned, and best practices for conducting a successful solar performance test.
Learning Objectives:
Upon completion, participants will be able to understand how a capacity test is conducted.
Common challenges with capacity tests and methods to overcome them.
