Senior Consultant
Hitachi Energy
Mr. Bikiran Guha has been with Hitachi Energy USA Inc. Power Consutling since May 2020.. Since joining, he has been part of a variety of modeling, interconnection feasibility and planning studies including generation interconnection studies, transient stability studies, subsynchronous oscillation analysis, AI datacenter interconnection stability analysis and IBR modeling and POI screening. He has also developed multiple python-based automation tools to help with transmision planning and reliability analysis.
Mr. Guha also gained experience at National Renewable Energy Laboratories in the summer of 2019 as Bulk Grid Modeling and Resiliency Intern. As part of this experience, he worked on a project which evaluated the frequency support capability of electrolyzers (controllable loads) on the transmission grid with high renewable energy penetration levels using PSS/E and developed a user-friendly framework to carry out time domain contingency analysis of transmission systems using python and PSS/E, which also included the capability of simulating controllable load support.
Mr. Guha also served as a Research Assistant in the Electrical and Computer Engineering Department at Illinois Institute of Technology at Chicago, IL from Aug 2016 till May 2020, where he helped develop Faster than Real Time Simulators for Power System Transient Stability Analysis and Combined Dynamics and Protection Simulators for Cascading Failure Analysis.
